Butterflies are living because they fly, eat, grow and move . Butterflies are invertebrate insects they don’t have a backbone or spine. Butterflies are solitary insects they don’t live in colonies like ants or bees .
Habitat
Butterflies live in forests as well as in our own backyards. We must plant flowers so the butterflies drink nectar .
Features
The butterfly has a long coiled tongue called the
proboscis . It is a hollow tube it works like a
Drinking straw to suck up nectar .
It has spots on its wings that look like eyes to fright
birds .
Food
Most butterflies feed on nectar from flowers. And they sleep at night time not at day time.
Predators
The butterfly predator is cats ,rats , frogs , spiders and dogs .
