Strange Times
Going to school
Makes me very cool
Learning new stuff
Is never enough I will do my best
I won’t give any less
Writing my work must be neat
It is such a pleasure to complete
Maths and sums are such a bore
But it just keeps on getting more
Makes my heart feel good at the end
Playing outside
Where no one ever hides
Eating my lunch
You can hear me munch
Doing Jump Jam is so much fun
It is for everyone
Hearing the bell ring at the end of the day
Makes me wish that I can stay
But now we are stuck at home
With no teacher, so alone
But mum jumped in to teach
Now life is a peach
Having her help me
Makes me want to be more of an amazing me
But still doing maths is such a bore
I want to close my door
Baking stuff everyday
Makes the missing go away
Playing games here and there
Where’s my card? Where where where?
Not going out is strange
But I have many toys, quite a range
Readings my books at night
Makes me dream that I am a knight
I do miss my friends
Luckily Virtual meetings never ends
I wonder when school will start
I think I’m getting really smart
Wash your hands often, stay clean
You know what I mean
But for now I will stay home and I’ll stay safe
So that Corona virus will not make a wave.

Karmi this is a very delightful poem, I love how you began with how life was like before it went to lockdown. I can see you’ve worked hard on the rhythm and the rhyming and you did a fabulous job.
ReplyDeleteI love the line “a more of an amazing me” that is something everyone should aspire to!
I know that the future generations will enjoy it too!
