My Art

This is my art I did  in Lockdown. I have drawn a unicorn because they are my favourite animals.  I chose this one because it looks so cool. I did the hair in rainbow and I leave the skin white so it does look like a unicorn and I have also drawn the horn and some wings to it. I will also show you other drawings of mine next time. Bye....

Born to run and training

We have been learning about an athlete called Arthur Lybiard. We have been reading about him and we also did a time line and a training letter how to train for the Olympic. The training letter is for you to train for the Olympic games you don't need to do it, you can do it for fun. The timeline is where you can find facts about Arthur Lybiard. I hope you enjoyed it. Bye...

Training

If you're going to train for the Olympics, you have to be ready. If you're an athlete, and you want to be in the Olympic games, then you have to train very hard to be in the Olympic games.  You have to train every day if you want to become an Olympic champion, you have to do the sports that you like to do. You can make a new sport that you haven’t done before, it would be great. For one reason I never did cricket before, but when I played it, it was really fun. It would give you a new talent for sport.

To be ready…

  1. You have to train your best to be in the Olympic games. Choose your favorite sport, and do the training with a friend or be alone for the training for your favourite sport. If you like hockey you can do the training for that or another sport, like tennis, basketball, netball, soccer or other ones.

Find a team...

2.  If you want to be in the Olympic games, you will need a team and a coach for the training. You will have to have a team because you will need help because if you don’t have a team, you won’t be able to go in the Olympics finals and that would be really sad. So find one of the best athletes you have heard of and start training for the Olympics.

Eat healthy...

3.  If you want to be an athlete you will have to eat healthy food. You will have to eat things that are healthy food like an apple, banana, orange, tomato and others but you can’t eat unhealthy food. You will eat healthy, you will train every day to be in the Olympic games if you want to.

Training and Competing…

4. You are ready for any sport you have to do in the Olympic games. The training was for competing, athletes did compete in the Olympics. That is why you train and train to become a better athlete that you haven’t been for. Your team is counting on you to compete for the Olympics finals.

Good luck...

5.  You have reached the Olympic finals. Get ready to be the Olympic champion. You have to be ready for anything you have been waiting for. Your team is counting on you, so make your family proud and your team.

Harakeke Uses and Instruction

We have read a book about Harakeke. We did a google drawing about Harakeke uses and instructions on how to weave your own Harakeke flower. If you did the Harakeke flower, send a command and a picture so you can give it to a family member or a friend as a gift. Hope you enjoy.  😀

How to weave a flower Purpose - We are learning how to weave a flower so we can use them as decorations. Equipment list A couple of flax, scissors, Beads, Tiny shells and a needle. Steps to make harakeke flower
 1. Split the flax in half (from the sharp point down) but leave about 15 cm still joined (leave longer if you want a longer stem)
 2. Lie the flax flat on a table and start by crossing the left leaf under the right one. Then fold that now left one back under the right one.
 3. Then continue to fold the one that’s now on the left under the right one, and you are going to keep doing this same pattern until you get to the end. So, to recap, always fold the one that is on the left under the one that’s on the right.
 4. Eventually, you will get to the end of the leaf and because of the way the folds work it ends up in the shape of a flower.
 5. Pull it around in a circle quite tight so that it almost looks like a rose. Then you want to get your pieces of shell or paua, needle and nylon.
 6. Thread through the leaf and then through your shell or bead. Thread back to the backside of the flower and then to the front again and continue to the back again – knot it off.
 7. The image shows two extra flowers that I have made up. As mentioned earlier these can make a neat little gift as you can pop them in a box and post them – could be a great gift idea for the grandparents!
